Lemon and its skin lightening benefits are quite popular. The vitamin c content works towards making the skin better and beautiful. Very few people are aware of the benefits of lemon and lime juice for treating acne and pimples scars.

Acne is a skin condition when there is skin inflammation, redness and accumulation of dirt and oil under the skin. Pain, itching and scars are also associated with skin acne. It is quite a common problem, especially among the teenagers. There are many skin treatments suggested for the skin scars but home remedies that are natural are considered the best. This is because these remedies do not show any harmful side effect on the skin and do not irritate the skin further.

One such home remedy is lemon juice. Let us get to know the ways in which we can use it for pimple trouble.

1. Lemon juice and cucumber juice– Lemon juice can be very useful for treating acne scars due to the skin lightening property of lemon. Just combine some rose water, cucumber juice and lemon juice. Apply this mixture to the affected area.  Leave for 10-15 minutes and then rinse with water. Cucumber juice heals the skin and rose water gives a fresh look.

2. Lemon juice and curd– Curd is known for its anti-bacterial property and for its cooling effect on the skin. Mix some lemon juice in a bowl of curd and apply this mixture to the acne scars. Leave it for around 30 minutes and then rinse with water and pure natural cleanser. Repeat this remedy every alternate day to fade away those scars.

3. Lemon juice and almond oil– Almond oil is enriched with vitamin E which is considered really beneficial for the skin. Mix some lemon juice in almond oil and mix properly. Apply this mixture and let it stay for 20 minutes on the skin with scars. Rinse it off with water. This can also be used to reduce dark spots and blemishes on the skin.

4. Lemon juice and egg white– Egg contains protein which repairs the skin and makes the skin tone even. It also removes impurities from the skin. Mix lemon juice and egg white properly. Apply this mixture on the skin and leave for 30-40 minutes. Wash with lukewarm water and face wash. Use a face wash with a nice fragrance to get rid of the smell of the egg. Repeat regularly for better results.

Do remember to moisturise your skin with a moisturising cream or lotion after every wash. Try to use a face wash with natural extracts so that it is not very harsh on the skin. Do not apply lemon juice on irritated skin or on skin cuts. In case you happen to do so, rinse with water thoroughly and apply a nourishing cream. Keep Smiling Keep Glowing!
